Mill Mountain Zoo is proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Skyline Stage — our beautiful new outdoor event space with stunning views and a powerful purpose. Join us for the official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 10:30 AM!

The Zoo opens at its regular time of 10:00 AM.

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony begins at 10:30 AM.

Regular Zoo admission applies.

The Skyline Stage isn't just a new structure — it's a symbol of our commitment to access, equity, rights, and participation. We believe that everyone, of all ages and abilities, deserves safe and inclusive access to our mission of wildlife conservation and innovative education.

For years, the old amphitheater posed trip hazards and handicap-accessibility challenges. With rotting wood, warped composite, questionable footing, and no handicap access, the antiquated structure was a hazard and a heartbreak —especially when we saw children in wheelchairs unable to participate fully in programs with their peers.

That’s why transforming this space became a top priority.

This new stage is sustainable, safe, and fully handicap-accessible — built with integrity and designed to welcome everyone into the heart of our programming. It’s more than a structure; it’s a promise to raise the bar and live up to the high standards our guests and community deserve.

The Skyline Stage will host exciting education programs, performances, weddings, corporate and family events — and we can’t wait to welcome you to this special celebration and share what the Skyline Stage will mean for the future of Mill Mountain Zoo.
