MMZ is thrilled to introduce the newest dynamic duo on the mountain--Sam and Sophia, a charming pair of N. American porcupines--and their baby porcupine, known as a porcupette, born on May 13th! Come visit the zoo to see them in person!

Mill Mountain Zoo is excited to introduce our two new red foxes! Noodle and Lilly are sisters who were born and raised in captivity and were transferred to Mill Mountain Zoo after being surrendered to the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources.

Mill Mountain Zoo announces the arrival of a non-releasable male Bald eagle, named, Tommy, who was born in 2020. He was found in Atlantic Beach, NC in June of 2020 and brought to a raptor care center after being seen injured on the side of a road.
