Led by our experienced educators, this guided hike will take you through Mill Mountain’s trails in search of these often-overlooked but fascinating creatures, from elusive salamanders hiding under logs to sunbathing snakes and turtles along the trail. As we explore, we’ll discuss the key differences between reptiles and amphibians, their unique adaptations for survival, and the crucial roles they play in maintaining healthy ecosystems. After our hike, we’ll return to the zoo to meet some of our cold-blooded animal ambassadors up close, learning more about their behaviors, habitats, and the conservation challenges they face in the wild!
